The result is a 2026 season with concrete improvements that make a real difference on the water — here's what's changed.
New Early Morning Departures
Starting in April, we're adding 8:00 am departures to our 2-hour sailing tours. This has been one of the most consistent requests we've received from guests — particularly photographers, early risers and travellers who want to make the most of a full day in the city.
There's something genuinely special about the Olympic Port at that hour. The marina is quiet, the light is extraordinary — warm and low-angled, catching the Barceloneta towers and the Hotel W in a way that the afternoon sun never does — and the sea is usually as flat as it gets all day. You're back at the dock before 10am with the rest of the day completely open. For families with young children or anyone who finds the midday heat on deck a bit much, an early departure is the answer.
We're also keeping our standard morning, afternoon and sunset departure windows, with staggered times that let passengers choose the moment that works best for their itinerary.
Introducing the Mojito Sunset Tour
Our sunset sailing experience was already our most popular and most-booked slot. This season we're taking it a step further with the Mojito Sunset — a private group tour that adds craft cocktails to the golden hour experience.
The concept is simple: your group gets the boat to yourselves, departing in the late afternoon so you're out on the water as the sun drops toward the horizon. On board, we prepare fresh mojitos using quality rum, lime, mint and soda while the light turns everything gold. The playlist, the pace and the atmosphere are yours to shape.
The Mojito Sunset is available for private groups and is ideal for bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations, company outings or anyone who wants to end a day in Barcelona in a way they won't easily forget. Spots are limited and it fills up fast — especially in June, July and August. If you're planning ahead, book early.
Fleet Maintenance and Upgrades
While the port is quieter in winter, our technical team works continuously on the boats. This off-season we completed a thorough overhaul of the entire fleet: new sails fitted, full inspection and update of all safety equipment on board, communication system improvements, and a complete check of navigation electronics.
We've also made visible improvements to the deck of our main sailboat: new winches, better organised deck space for passengers, and updated interior cushioning and storage — small details that add up to a noticeably more comfortable experience when you're spending two or three hours on the water. We replaced several fittings that were perfectly functional but had started to show wear, and refreshed the interior aesthetic throughout.
Safety and comfort aren't optional at Cool Sailing BCN — they're the foundation everything else is built on. Sailing in a well-maintained boat, skippered by Merchant Navy-certified captains, is the basic guarantee we offer every passenger who steps aboard.
